Thing #7: Talking/experimenting/borrowing technology

Reading Lists turned into Trading Cards. Kids might be more inclined to use Cards instead of booklists to get reading ideas.

Obviously, something is very wrong with the way I did it, but I think 3 hours on this is enough for now.

Upload your digital photos to www.FotoTrix.com and add special effects, borders, frames and fun layouts (1,000 photofun templates). Make fake magazine covers, calendars, sports/collector cards, posters, love messages, photocards and so much more!

I very much like this use of the trading card generator. The only problem, in the real world, printing them would be so darned expensive. Do you think they could be traded online?

Image generators ARE fun to play with, and I have used to make interesting powerpoint slides.

I hope you're ignoring that first comment from an obviously "nice guy" but really just an advertising ploy. Bibliofan has a realistic point about printing costs, but I like your application of the trading cards as a different form of a "Recommended Reads" list ...

You have so many good ideas! Be sure to share them by adding you favorites to our California 2.0 Curriculum Connections wiki.

Just checking -- have you recently checked out the School Library Learning 2.0 weekly tips?

Enjoy!

Hammock Reader, nice job on your 23 Things projects. I'm just beginning and selected you as my first comment because of the "hammock" title. I love the trading card you created and wonder if I could make a card listing books on specific topics and blow it up as a poster on our poster maker. It would only be in one color or b/w, but I would only need one instead of many. Something to try in the fall.
Enjoy the hammocks,
